True Art

creativity

The urge to draw; the urge to write; to invent; cook a new dish; brew a new beverage; design a new style of house, car or clothing, all stem from perceptions that rise up in a mind and demand their place in the objective world. Enough survive the transition to inspire the artist to see what among the other things lurking in that hidden subjective world may stake a claim to reality, and how others may be made better by the process. The first religions, I like to wonder, may have come from storytellers whose tales inspired others to learn how to paint pictures on the walls of caves.
