Faith– the acceptance of any idea without a shred of evidence, maintained in the face of contrary evidence –depends upon enforcement and reinforcement for its survival. Faith has no appeal to reason, but finds its haven among the emotions, which makes it a dangerous habit. In logic, appeal to the emotions is a well-known fallacy that leads away from truth and imprisons its victims in their own minds. When two faiths collide, the result is often disaster. One side purges the other, and truth never gets served. What is truth? you ask. It is whatever is true despite upon whatever whatever we hang up a faith, and then pretend to believe.
